Robert Eugene Jones
February 2,1935 ~ August 17, 2025
Bob was born in the small town of Andrix, which no longer exists, but was in Las Animas County, Colorado. He graduated from Kim High School in Kim, Colorado. He also graduated from the following: Trinidad State College in Trinidad Colorado, the Academy of Automation in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, Illinois.
In1955 he was employed by the CHICAGO ROCK ISLAND & PACIFIC RAILROAD. Then 1980 with the OKLAHOMA KANSAS TEXAS RAILROAD in Enid Oklahoma. During this period, he joined the United States Army and was a Radio Teletype Operator from 1957-1959.
Bob was united in marriage to Dorothy Ann Behounek January 14, 1961. They had three children, Christine, Greg and Patrick. They celebrated 64 years together.
His hobbies included Golf, Gardening, Coin Collecting and his favorite Deep-Sea Fishing with his family. To this day his children love deep sea fishing. One more thing, during his retirement, Bob made beehive boxes for his beekeeper daughter. His plans were given to his son in law. But most of all he loved making wooden trains. He used reclaimed wood he found thrown away. The trains were given to his grandchildren and to boys and girls all over the world. It made him smile seeing the smiles from kids.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Irene (Winfrey) and Levi Jones. His brother Billy Jones and his son Greg Jones.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ann Jones, their daughter Christine and spouse Richard Garcia Jr., their son Patrick Jones and spouse Bonita, 3 grandchildren, Candy Pendergraft, Aaron Garcia, Olivia Sharp, 4 great-children, Grayson, Kinlee, Lillie, Anthony, 2 great-great-grandchildren, Luci, Elijah, Bob’s sister Donna Pearce, along with many nieces and nephews.
He was known to the family as Grand-dad and Uncle Bob.
