A brilliant mind, a gentle soul, a loving father, passed away peacefully in Ogden, Utah. He was born on March 3, 1940 to Frank and Louise King.

Robert earned degrees in psychology and philosophy from Weber State University. Roberts' passion for knowledge was only rivaled by his love for family and effusive poetry – one of his cherished poems was formally published in a national collection of poetry.

He lived his faith, serving a mission in Australia for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Many a daily phone call Robert kept in touch with those who were closest, who supported his love for hot dogs, sardines, hamburgers, and Diet Coke. Robert was truly happy when family would join him for these visits.

Robert's family consisted of countless grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews whose names he amazingly kept track of, until his memory gently faded with his progressive age.

His legacy includes a quick wit and great sense of humor – even as age slowed his clever remarks, his twinkle remained, and we still laughed together.

In his final days, daughters Tamara and Kymberly shared precious moments with their father. Tears of laughter and joy filled the air as they sang and read to one another. in those moments his voice was still strong as it echoed in their hearts.

We would like to give special thanks to the amazing staff at The Provo State Hospital for the years of caring they gave to our dad. You showed him love and compassion. You took him in and made him family and for that we are forever grateful. We would also like to give a special thank you to Crestwood Care Center and Active Home Health, Hospice, and Personal Care, for the kind care they gave our Dad on his last days on this earth.

Robert is survived by his two loving daughters, Tamara Angeloff (David Tekell) and Kymberly King-Hanson (Gregory King-Hanson); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Marsianne Eddy and Susie Luthy; nieces and nephews; and his ex-wife, Judie Barker, with whom Robert remained in a close relationship throughout his life.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Steven Hall King; his parents, Frank and Louise King; sister, Donna Morris; and sister, Karma Rich.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 27, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Aultorest Memorial Park. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the local animal shelter.
