Robert William Kohler, affectionately known as Bob (BBB) to his friends and family, left this world peacefully on June 28, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on September 24, 1959, in the close- knit community of Middletown, NY, Bob's journey began and ended in the place he always called home.
Bob's life was characterized by his unyielding love, kindness, and selflessness, traits that endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to cross his path. He was the cherished son of mother Ilse K Kohler and deceased father Walter F Kohler. He was the beloved brother to Peter W Kohler, Erna I Kohler, Linda R Kohler, and Bernhard "Bernie" U Kohler. Bob had no children of his own but was loved by many nephews and nieces. His large extended family, who shared many joyous occasions with him, will remember Bob as the heart of their gatherings, a man who brought laughter and warmth into every room.
After graduating from high school, Bob embarked on a career that would see him become a familiar and friendly face in several local businesses. He began his professional journey at Shop Rite Supermarket as a Health and Beauty Aids (HABA) Stock Associate, where his diligent work and amiable nature quickly made him a favorite among both colleagues and customers. Bob's dedication to service saw him take on roles at Redner's Market and Rite Aid Pharmacy, where he rose to the position of Assistant Manager, before finally joining the team at Walgreens Pharmacy as an Assistant Manager. In each role, Bob's commitment to excellence and his innate ability to care for others shone brightly.
Outside of work, Bob pursued his passion for professional darts with vigor and enthusiasm. His competitive spirit and skill with darts earned him respect and admiration within the darts community. Yet, it was his sportsmanship and camaraderie that truly set him apart as a competitor and friend.
Bob's life was a testament to the power of simple acts of kindness. He was the sort of person who remembered a favorite story, or a birthday. His presence was a source of comfort and joy to many, and his absence will be felt deeply by those who knew him.
As we bid farewell to Bob, we do so with the knowledge that his legacy of love and kindness will continue to ripple through the lives of those he touched. His laughter, his gentle spirit, and his generous heart will be remembered and cherished forever.
In his passing, Bob Kohler leaves behind a richer community for his presence and a family grateful for every moment shared with him. As we reflect on his life, we are reminded of the beauty of a life well-lived, one filled with love, service, and the joy of everyday moments. Bob's memory will be held in the hearts of his family and friends as a beacon of the goodness that one person can bring into the world.
A local "Celebration of Life" ceremony will be arranged by the Kohler Family at a later date. Please email Bernie Kohler for more information at:
