Robert "Bob" Lamb, affectionately known as "Bubba" to his grandchildren, age 92, of Flint, Michigan, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
Born on August 26, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, Bob was the beloved son of the late Leroy and Emma (Mulholland) Coolidge Lamb. He proudly served his country as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division during the Korean War. A proud veteran, Bob often shared vivid stories of his time in service-stories that reflected both the courage and camaraderie that shaped him.
After his military service, Bob owned and operated his asphalt and curbing business, Asphalt Specialties, which he ran successfully until his retirement. His dedication to his work reflected the same work ethic and integrity he carried throughout his life.
A lifelong learner and avid reader, Bob had a deep love for books of all genres. Whether it was history, fiction, science fiction, crime, or a good romance novel, he found joy in the written word and passed that love of learning on to those around him. With a natural gift for storytelling, he captivated family and friends with tales from his life-especially his military years.
Bob is survived by his four children: Kimberly Lamb, Katherine (David) Hayes, Kevin Lamb, and Kelli (Rod) Fleming; and by his twelve grandchildren, who knew and loved him dearly as "Bubba": Hannah Wells (RJ), Hunter Wells, Marissa Miller, Kayla Miller, Liam Fleming, Logan Miller, Eric Lamb (Rachel), Sadie Lamb, Emil Lamb, Joshua Lamb, Rose Hawthorne (Andrez), and Nikolas Hayes; as well as his dog, Tootsie.
He is also survived by his great-grandchildren: Ella Weber, Zander Lamb, Ayden Lamb, Logan Miller Jr., William Miller, and Anastasia Miller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his nephew, Daryl Lamb, with whom he shared fond memories and many meaningful conversations; and his brothers: Clair Mulholland, Lawrence Lamb, Leland Lamb, and Fred Lamb. He was also preceded in death by his beloved dogs-Churchill, Rascal, and Buddy-and his cat, Gypsy, all of whom brought him great comfort and companionship.
A memorial service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Great Lakes National Cemetery. All who knew and loved Bob are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of a remarkable man who served with honor, worked with pride, read with passion, and lived with heart.
