Robert LaPalme Obituary

Robert Aurthur LaPalme, age 89, passed peacefully away in his home in Centennial Colorado on September 29, 2025.

Born on August 16, 1936 to Arthur and Valerie LaPalme (Kane) in western Massachusetts, he graduated from high school early and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1955. He served in Vietnam in 1958 and after discharged from the Air Force in 1962, he worked for the National Security Agency until his retirement in 1996. He was the recipient of numerous accolades for his nearly 40 year service to his country.

Robert met Gwenyth Ann Herzog from Winnemucca, NV and they married on April 13, 1957. 

Robert’s hobbies included fishing and the researching, documenting and sharing of our family’s ancestral history. Robert and Gwen, traveled the United States and Canada in their motor home visiting churches, cemeteries, and any location to complete the history. 

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Gwenyth Ann (Herzog) LaPalme who passed away in 2020. They were married for 63 years. He is survived by his children, Christopher LaPalme (Sara) of Rapid City, SD; Juliana LaPalme of Centennial, CO; Renee Decker (Alfred) of Martinsburg, WV; Jerome LaPalme (Jane) of Aurora, CO; Lorraine Dulaney of Magnolia, OH; Joseph LaPalme (Hong) of Springfield, VA; his sister, Sarajane (LaPalme) Kostek of Hadley, MA; aunt, Marie (Kane) Whelihan of Columbia, MO; grandchildren, Debra Derheimer of Mineral City, OH; Richard LaPalme of Rapid City, SD; Brittney (LaPalme) Poto (Matt) of Rapid City, SD; great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will take place at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church on Thursday, October 7 at 11:00 am. A private internment will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery on October 13.
