Bob was a talented civil engineer and received his engineering degree from Vanderbilt University In 1956. Bob worked for the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers, Louisville District, retiring with over 30 years of service. He also worked at Hazelet & Erdal Consulting Engineers in Louisville, Kentucky and Cincinnati Ohio for a short time. Bob served in the U.S. Army and U.S. Army reserves. He enjoyed antique cars. He was a proud owner of a 1950 Ford and was a former member of the Early Ford V-8 Club and Hoosier Knobs Car Club. Bob was a skilled woodworker and he enjoyed making antique reproduction furniture. Bob was a longtime member of Culbertson Baptist Church in New Albany and former member of Westport Road Baptist Church in Louisville. He graduated from New Albany High School where he was a member of the 1952 basketball team.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Carolyn. They have four daughters, Susan Ledford, Jennifer Ledford, Becky (Dan) Ainsworth, and Pam Ledford and granddaughters, Samantha Ballard, and Alexis Ainsworth.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, June 27, 2024,3:00pm, at Naville & Seabrook Funeral Home, 1119 E. Market Street, New Albany, In 47150. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm- 3:00 pm, prior to the funeral ceremony.

Susan, God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. I remember how you always spoke so proudly and lovingly about your father and how much you cherished the beautiful furniture he made. May you find peace during this difficult time.

I feel honored to have met Bob in the last few months. I loved hearing all of his stories about playing basketball and baseball, as well as sharing a few stories of my own. He always referred to the therapy department as The Den of Iniquity, but he would still agree to come down and work with me anyway.
He told me that I was his friend, and that´s what I´ll remember the most.
Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of this good man. I´m so glad to have known him. I wish I could pay my respects in person but as you know, I am out of town.
