Woodrow L. "Woody" Vermillion

Woodrow "Woody" Lee Vermillion, 87, passed away in the late hours of Thursday, September 4th, 2025 at the Waters of Georgetown. He was born on August 30th, 1938 in Louisville, KY to the late Woodrow Vermillion and Lillian (Hawkins) Cecil. Woody owned Service Master Tri-Counties where he provided commercial and residential disaster restoration. He was a man of great character and deep faith, and had been a member of Faith Chapel General Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. Woody proudly served his country in the United States Army, and was blessed with 44 loving years of marriage to his doting wife, Joyce (Hays) Vermillion.

In addition to his parents, Woody was preceded in death by his aunt, Edith Hawkins; and his daughter in law, Linda Foster.

Left to cherish his memory; devoted wife, Joyce Vermillion; son, Larry W. Foster; daughter, Cindy J. Monroe (Roger); grandchildren, Emily Moore (Eric), Jordan Monroe (Mallory), Kayla Foster, Danny Hatchell and his children, Shannon (Matt) Lawrence and their children; and great-grandchildren, Savannah, Wyatt, Easton, Lizzy, Evie, Audrey, and Ellie.

Visitation will be held at the Market Street Chapel of the Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E. Market Street, New Albany, IN) on Thursday, September 11th from 2 PM – 8 PM, and also on Friday, September 12th from 11 AM – 12 PM. Funeral Service will begin at 12 PM with burial to follow at Beech Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Gravelswitch, KY.
