Funeral Services for Rev. Robert Allen Lee Sr., age 62 of Lineville, will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at New Hope West Baptist Church with Rev. Jamie Meeks, Rev. A.J. Pinkard, Rev. Tate Gosdin, and Rev. Greg Dixson officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family requests for anyone attending the service on Sunday to bring a covered dish to the New Hope West fellowship Hall for the meal following the committal service.
Rev. Lee went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at RMC in Anniston. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, he was raised in the Bouldercrest community, where his strong work ethic and servant's heart began to take shape at a young age. As a youth, he worked at the Gresham Park Feed Store, later joining his family in the construction trade. Alongside his work, he gave his time as a baseball coach and umpire, always ready to mentor and encourage those around him.
In 1992, his family relocated to Clay County, where he was briefly employed by Truwood Cabinets. But it was on May 5, 2002, at Victory Baptist Church in Ashland, that he answered the call to ministry - a calling he fulfilled with unwavering devotion. He was ordained on May 20, 2007, and served as pastor at New Hope Baptist Church in Alexander City. Later, alongside his family, he helped found Homeward Bound Baptist Church on the Rock. In his later years, even as his health declined, he remained faithful, attending Antioch Baptist Church in Woodland.
Rev. Lee was a man of many gifts. A natural musician, he could pick up and play virtually any instrument. He was also a skilled huntsman, a masterful fisherman, and a craftsman of remarkable precision when it came to woodworking. Yet above all, his greatest legacy was his deep love for the Lord.
He was a shepherd to his congregation, a steadfast protector of his family, a loyal friend to many, and Pawpaw to his grandchildren, who he loved with all of his heart. With a heart of gold and a selfless spirit, he faced every challenge with grace and compassion. There was no burden too heavy, no task too great - if you needed help, he showed up with hands ready and a heart full of love. His presence brought peace and strength. For his children, witnessing his life was a privilege - a living testimony of God's light, love, and unwavering faith.
One of his constant reminders, through every season of life - both joyful and difficult - was to trust God. He would often say, "When God calls me home, don't be sad." In his sermons, he frequently quoted Hebrews 9:27, always following with the reassurance: "God will give you comfort." His favorite verse, one that he lived by, was John 14:18: "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."
In many ways, he preached his own funeral long before his passing - not through words alone, but through the way he lived: as a warrior for God, a devoted husband and father, a fierce friend, and a servant of Christ. He stood firmly on the truth of God's Word, and his greatest hope was that all would come to salvation and share in the eternal promise of Heaven.
So for now, we hold on to John 14:18, and the blessed assurance that while he may be gone from our sight, he is never gone from our hearts. Even in his final moments, he never took his eyes off God - always looking Heavenward, until the very end.

Lee was survived by his wife of 43 years, Debbie Annette Lee of Lineville; daughter, Ashley Burton (Brandon) of Ashland; Son, Robert Allen Lee Jr. (Stephanie) of Lineville; four grandchildren: Bailey Gann, Acen Lee, Natalie Burton, and Colton Burton; one sister, Brenda Whatley (Larry) of Dadeville; three brothers: Martin Lee of Stockbridge, GA, Mike Lee (Cheryl) of Wedowee, and Earl Lee (Dena) of Cragford plus a large extended family.
