Robert Lisenbee July 3rd, 1968 – October 26, 2023
Robert Frank Lisenbee, age 55, of Las Vegas, NM, passed away on Thursday, October 26th, 2023, leaving behind his family and friends who he deeply loved.
Robert is survived by his best friend, his loving and gentle wife, Gabriella Romero, daughter Alycia Filyk (Collin) grandchildren: Kinsley (Beautiful) and Miles (Bam Bam); nephew, Juanito who he often referred to as Bubaluski as well as his Mother, Fran Lisenbee, sisters Phyllis Taylor (Robert), Roberta Lisenbee, Carla Rubio-Lisenbee, Alta Rubio (late Rudolfo), and Truva Armijo (Joseph); brother, Michael (Andrea); nieces, nephews. He spoke fondly of his family. He had a deep affection for his mother as well as his entire family.
He is preceded in death by his father Burton Lisenbee, sister-in-law Consuelo Romero-Vigil, and brother-in-law Rudolfo Rubio.
Robert graduated from New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM, He then attended New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, NM. After finishing his academic path, Robert proudly served in the US Army during the Gulf War. Once returning home, he relocated to Albuquerque, NM where he embarked on a successful career at KRQE. He worked for KRQE for 30 years demonstrating his dedication and pride in his work, he originally started as a cameraman and quickly rose to the position of director.
Beyond his work life, Robert was a man who enjoyed many things. Among those things were golfing, watching any sports broadcast; (especially the Dallas Cowboys), regardless of who was playing because that's how deeply his passion for sports was, as well as the Rocky Balboa movies, The Food Network and above all, spending time with his family.
He was a renowned distributor of hugs and kisses to his grandchildren. He would call them every day and stay on the phone for hours. His greatest joy in life was being "Papa" to Kinsley & Miles.
Robert had a magnetic personality that drew people to him, he made others feel comfortable, loved, and supported all while making them laugh at the same time due to his great sense of humor.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Rio Rancho, NM. The Rosary will commence at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
Tremendous and heartfelt thanks go to Rogers Mortuary in Las Vegas, NM, for assisting with the arrangements. Todd Rogers was Rob's best friend who he often referred to as "brother," Our family would like to thank the Rogers family immensely for handling Rob's services.
Robert will be remembered for his unwavering love and his ability to bring comfort and joy to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
