Robert Ashley Lovelace73, of Rochester, New York, formerly of Roanoke, Virginia, peacefully left this world Saturday, May 4, 2024. Robert was born March 13, 1951, he graduated from Northside High School and later attained his bachelor's degree from Liberty University, he also served his country in the United States Army Reserves.
His career began in the tough Chicago rail yards of Norfolk & Western (NS). He and his family would move several times as his career advanced to the executive level and he set operational standards in excellence. He was committed to a healthy lifestyle and focused on weightlifting during his arduous work-related travel away from his family. Robert would eventually attain national and world weightlifting titles and sponsor weightlifting meets for others.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Robert J. Lovelace and Janice B. Lovelace. He is survived by his daughter, Christin O'Rourke (Mike); son, Scott Lovelace (Becky); sisters, Diane Hylton (Jay), Debra Lovelace (Charles Spencer); brother, David Lovelace; nephew, J.R. Hylton (Roxie); grandchildren, Quinn and Kensley O'Rourke, Addie and Aliza Lovelace.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Robert's name to the American Diabetes Association.
