Robert Henry Marquardt, 93, of Random Lake died peacefully on Saturday, October 12, 2024, at Rocky Knoll Health Facility surrounded by family.
He was born in the town of Farmington on March 13, 1931, to the late Philip and Viola (nee Jobs) Marquardt, Bob served his country in the United States Army from 1951-1953. On September 3, 1955, Bob married Lorna Stange at St. Paul's United Church of Christ in Silver Creek. He retired from the West Bend Aluminum Company after 40 years, Bob then returned to farming his 80-acre hobby farm. After retiring from farming, he enjoyed traveling mystery trips with Personalized Tours. First overseas trip was to Germany, Switzerland and Italy 2008. Alaska was next then Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Panama Canal, and Hawaii.
On October 24, 2015, Bob had the privilege to go on the Honor Flight with his youngest son Glen, brother-in-law, Leon Stange, and nephew, Joe Stange. Bob enjoyed being a handyman for building and repairing anything, watching NASCAR, playing cards, especially Sheephead, and picking stones.
Those Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 69 years, Lorna Marquardt; three sons, Lloyd (Renee) Marquardt, Roy (Dorothy Dunkerson) Marquardt, and Glen (LeAnn) Marquardt; two granddaughters, Amy (fiancé Tim Lampman) Marquardt and Kay (Shain) Benson; Step-granddaughter, Sarah Shackelford; three great-grandchildren, Kash Benson, Shay Benson, and Cole Lampman; sister, Olive (Jim) Esselmann; brother, Arthur Marquardt; brother-in-law, Leon Stange; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Bernice (Jerome) Peters and Helen (Cecil) Schneider and two sisters-in-law, Marvel Marquardt and Jane Stange.
VISITATION: The family will greet relatives and friends at St John's United Church of Christ (98 Random Lake Rd, Random Lake WI.) on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m.
SERVICE: A memorial service for Bob will be held following the visitation at the Church at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Bridget Hill officiating the service, with fellowship to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John's UCC building fund or Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Bob's name are appreciated by the family.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Sharon R. Richardson Community Hospice and Rocky Knoll for keeping Bob comfortable in his last days.
