Robert Edward Martin, 83, of Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2024. Born on July 12, 1941, to Joseph Martin and Gertrude Spangler, Robert led a life of dedication, service, and love for his family and community.
Robert attended Ben Lomond High School, where he cultivated a passion for learning and mechanical skills that would later define his professional life. He proudly served his country in both the Navy and the Air Force, dedicating years of his life to military service. After an honorable career, he retired from Hill Air Force Base as a respected aircraft mechanic.
On April 11, 1968, Robert married the love of his life, Lauriann Barrett. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children: Greg, Jeremy, and Yannett. Family was at the heart of Robert's world, and he cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. His legacy lives on through his children and his eight beloved grandchildren.
Robert was a devoted member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, actively participating in scouting and family history. His commitment to his faith was evident in his everyday actions and the lives he touched within his church community. Outside of his religious and professional life, Robert had a passion for model trains and genealogy, spending countless hours tracing his family's history and building intricate train models.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gertrude Martin, his beloved wife Laurianne, his brother Joseph, and his sister Gertrude (Trudie). He is survived by his three children, Greg, Jeremy (Jonika), and Yannett (Brent), and his eight grandchildren, along with his sisters Edith (Kelly), and Joyce all of whom will miss him dearly.
Robert Edward Martin's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and love. His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. May he rest in peace.
