Clyve Douglas Findlay, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his home on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.
Clyve was born on March 12, 1945, to Douglas and Arlie Findlay in Afton, WY. He grew up in Star Valley, WY, Murray, UT, Logan, UT, and Roy, UT, and graduated from Weber High School. Clyve served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California South Mission. He married Rosalyn Wright on February 12, 1970, in the Logan Utah Temple and was married for 55 years. They honeymooned in Disneyland and returned often with their children, including a special trip to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Clyve dreamed of becoming a truck driver from a very early age and felt fortunate he was able to drive over-the-road his whole career. He was also an owner/operator of Diamond F Trucking. He also transported eggs, gasoline, potatoes, home goods, and air products as well as hauling trailers for the United States Post Office. He loved to travel and knew all the good truck stops to eat at. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching all games, but especially those games played by his children and grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and enjoyed supporting his grandchildren in every way. He had a kind smile and loved socializing with friends. He loved gathering with family and attending family reunions. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and would take them on outings. He was supportive and always showed up at his children's and grandchildren's events. He cherished going on walks with his dog, Lady. She was his shadow and adored him as much as he adored her.
Clyve is survived by his loving wife, Rosalyn, their three daughters, Shelly Waters, Tara (Robert) Pebley, Natalie (Jericho) Chesley. He's also survived by nine grandchildren, Traylor (Jason) Hazen, Jaren, Alexia, Kayla, Juliet, Scarlett, and Chloe Chesley. Siblings Mark (Susan) Findlay, Shauna Moss, Reed (Joan) Findlay, Janalyn (Mike) Strickland, RaNaun Chase, Brent (Debbie) Findlay, many nieces and nephews and his devoted dog, Lady. He is also survived by his brothers in-law, Robert (Janice) Wright, LaMar (Marjean) Wright, Rodney (Jaylene) Wright, Kenny (Debbie) Wright, and his sister in-law, Deanna (Mike) Kelsch.
He was preceded in death his parents and in-laws Ruth and Roland Wright, grandson, Patrick (PJ) Kilburn, and son-in-law Maurey Johnson, brother in laws Bruce Moss and Gorden Chase and nephew Tyler Chase.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 6-8 pm at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard,
Ogden, Utah. A second viewing will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 9:30-10:40 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am. Interment will be at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd,
Ogden, Utah.
