Robert Patrick McGinniss, age 42, went to his forever home in heaven on May 12, 2024. Raised in West Deptford, Robert graduated from West Deptford High School class of 2000, where he was on the wrestling team, and grew up playing soccer and baseball. Robert worked for the US Postal Service in Sewell, NJ where he was loved and adored by his customers and coworkers.
If there was one thing that came naturally to Rob, it was being an excellent father. Watching his daughter play sports was something that brought him enjoyment and made him most proud. Raising his son, Brayden, as a single parent, they shared a special bond. He hoped one day Brayden would become a wrestler, just like his dad. Rob taught his children to always love, help and protect one another, mirroring the relationship he shared with his sisters. He was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan and especially loved his Philadelphia Eagles.
Rob, aka Big Robba, enjoyed most being with his family whether it was parties, sporting events, holidays, and vacations. Rob always kept his family and friends entertained with his jokes and awesome/horrible dance moves. Rob very much enjoyed music and music trivia. Rob's song dedicated to his daughter Addison was "I loved her first" (Heartland). He also shared a love of Christian music with his grandmother.
Recently predeceased by his cherished grandmother Elizabeth Layton. Survived by his loving parents Ronald and Faith Layton McGinniss, his children Addison and Brayden McGinniss, sisters Veronica McGinniss, Payton McGinniss (Tom Franklin), Paige McGinniss (John Taylor), adoring nieces and nephews, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends and family may join us from 2-4 pm for a viewing with a service following on Thursday, May 23, 2024 in the Gloucester County Community Church, 359 Chapel Heights Road, Sewell, NJ 08080. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Robi's children, Addison and Brayden. Venmo: @AddisonBraydenMcG. Please see Tribute Wall for QR code.

Man, this tears my heart apart. Robert would see me walk into the post office, and without a word, he would go and grab my packages from the back. Robert was very friendly and exceptionally respectful. He helped me with my passport application last year. I told him that I would keep him updated on my vacation plans. This one hurts. May God bless his family and the Sewell post office.
