Robert "Bob" McGurrin

Robert John McGurrin, Sr. "Bob or John" of Endicott, NY, age 88 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at Lourdes Hospital. Bob is predeceased by his parents, James and Helen McGurrin; son, Robert; and siblings: Francis, James, Marian Edwards, William, Anthony, Joseph, Catherine Melliand, and Thomas. Bob is survived by his spouse of 56 years, Esther; his children, Sharon, Jean (Thomas) Hardik, Thomas, and Joseph; grandchildren, Michael and Katelin Hardik, and Connor McGurrin; one surviving sibling, Martin from Forestville, Md.; and several nieces and nephews. Bob was born in Scranton, Pa. where he graduated from South Catholic High School and The University of Scranton where he secured a BA in Sociology with honors. He is a veteran of the US Air Force and was employed as a Social Security Administration Claims Representative.
A Celebration of Life will be on May 20, 2023 at 1:00 pm at a place to be announced at a later date. In Lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Bob's (John's) memory may be made to: Lourdes Hospital Geller Oncology Fund, 169 Riverside Dr., Binghamton, NY 13905 as he was very devoted to his wife and children.
