Mr. Robert E. Moran, Jr., of Waltham, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 in Brigham and Woman’s Hospital in Boston. He was 54.
Bob was born in Waltham on July 22, 1970, the son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Mary (Holmes) Moran. Raised in Waltham, he graduated from Waltham High and earned his bachelor’s degree at Salem State College.
He had worked for years at Benchmark Senior Living where he was most recently the Senior Vice President of Operations. During his career helped to design facilities and to later open them and traveled extensively to Benchmark locations.
Professionally Bob was well respected by his colleagues and the residents he served. He went above and beyond in every area of his work and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever needed.
The happiest part of Bob’s life began when he married his high school sweetheart, Melissa “Missy” Woodward. The pair soon after welcomed their son, Matthew and later Justin who made their family complete. Bob was a wonderful husband and father; his children were his pride and joy and he loved seeing them excel in life. He never missed a hockey game and was so happy to see them graduate from college.
He enjoyed traveling and Bob had a passion for boating. He found great peace and solace along the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
In addition to his parents, Bob is reunited in Heaven with his wife, Melissa M. “Missy” (Woodward) Moran.
He leaves his sons, Matthew J. and Justin D. Moran, both of Waltham; his sister, Katherine Bourque (Thomas) of Waltham; and his niece and nephews, Eric, Ryan, and Olivia Bourque.
Family and friends will honor and remember Bob’s life by gathering for an Evening Wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Thursday, December 26th from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Sacred Heart Church, 311 River Street, Waltham, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
