Robert Morrissey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bradley Funeral Home - Marlton on Feb. 7, 2024.
Robert Morrissey, Jr., known affectionately as Bob to his friends and family, passed away suddenly on February 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
58 years was not enough to have a man like Bob in our world. Bob grew up in Pennsauken and raised his family, alongside his wife, Lisa in Marlton. He was a proud graduate of Pennsauken High School's class of 1983. He was the owner and operator of Morrissey's Auto Repair in Cherry Hill, for 30 dedicated years. It was his passion for automobiles and his community that led him to Rowan University to attain his teaching certificate and Bachelor's degree in Education. He shared his knowledge and skills with the next generation, teaching Auto Shop at Pennsauken High School for over a decade and driving a school bus for the district.
Beyond his professional life, Bob was an active member of the Merchantville Fishing Club, where he served as Treasurer and shared many memorable moments with fellow members. He also volunteered his time and skills with Urban Promise in Camden, NJ, helping to uplift and empower the youth in his community.
Bob's love for his family was unparalleled. He is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa M. Morrissey (nee Kuch), and their children: Albert Morrissey and his wife, Alexandria; Elizabeth and her husband, Andrew Cole; James Morrissey and his fiancée, Haley; and Monica Morrissey. His joy was multiplied with the birth of his granddaughter, Rosemarie Cole. Bob also leaves behind his sisters, Judy Morrissey, Nancy Rice, Cathy Verdone and her husband, Tom, the late Patti Mitchell and her husband, Dave. His uncle, Jack Morrissey and his wife, Janet, his mother-in-law, Marie Kuch, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, and extended family members, especially his cherished in-laws, the Kuch family, will fondly remember Bob.
Bob's interests were a reflection of his love for life. He could often be found surf fishing or on his boat, The Ann Marie, casting a line. Fishing was not just a hobby for Bob; it was a way to connect with his friends and those he loved.
Bob Morrissey, Jr. will be remembered as a man who could fix more than just cars; he had a knack for mending hearts with his warmth and humor. He was the rock of his family, a quietly generous man, and a friend to all. His memory will be cherished and kept alive through the countless stories and acts of kindness he leaves behind.
Bob's spirit will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the ripples from a single cast can spread far and wide across the water's surface. He was a man who taught us that the richness of life is found not in what we have, but in who we are to each other. Together with his family, you are invited to celebrate and remember Bob on Thursday February 15, 2024 from 5:30-8pm at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Rt. 73 South at Evesham Road, Marlton. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 16, 2024 at 10:30am at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton with his burial to follow.

Growing up with his Familiar friendly face at our family home on Harvey Avenue. His kindness and his love for his motorized moped when they first made an appearance in our highschool days . His love for mechanics and the workout sessions in the curated gym in our home garage. Your smile and gentle way will be missed

We are devastated to hear of the passing of Bob. He worked on our families cars for 30 years. He was such an honest man and always went above and beyond. We are so upset over his passing.

I did not have the pleasure of meeting you..but I know your Son AJ...and it was obvious to me from the git that he was raised by good parents with solid values. Upon reading your obituary and seeing how you lived your life and the mark you left on this world I can say that the world was a better place with you in it...Godspeed to you Robert..Job well done!

Bob was one of my first friends when I moved and enrolled at St. Peter´s in Merchantville. We started a hockey team together when we were 9 years old. Bob was a brilliant guy and always super kind and generous. May God bless him and his family and friends. He will be missed and is in my prayers.

Dear Lisa and family,

To this day our family have wonderful memories of being your next door neighbor. We think of you, Bob, and the kids often. Every year goes by quicker than the one prior and before we know it we´re asking ourselves, "Where did those twenty years go?" Fortunately, for us, the memories haven´t faded with time. Bob was a wonderful friend with a brilliant personality and beautiful smile and we will always have warm memories of him. Hugs and kisses to all of you.
