Robert (Bob) Morris Mount, presently of Plainfield, IN, died on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born May 3, 1946, in Frankfort, IN to the late Robert H. and Myrtle L. (Morris) Mount.

Bob is survived by his wife Veronica (Cain), married on August 8, 1966 at St Ann Church; his two sons, Robert E. and Jim, their wives Rebecca and Kristy; and 6 grandchildren: Elena, Emma, Elyssa, Jimmy, Bobby and Ella all of Plainfield. Bob is also survived by his sister Sharon Quinn of Monticello and her husband Stan. Bobs marriage to Veronica also allowed him to count her siblings amongst his family: Margaret Lovejoy and her husband Steve of Zionsville, Rebecca Prugh and her Husband Dave of Maryville, TN and Dave Cain and his wife Sheila of Warrenton, VA.

Bob grew up seeing much of the country, as his family moved from one location to another as they followed his father's career. Bob graduated from East Tipp High School in 1964. In high school, Bob enjoyed participating in football, basketball, and track. After high school, Bob earned bachelor's and master's degrees from the Krannert School of Management, Purdue University. While at Purdue, Bob became a member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Bob spent most of his career in Information Systems management for TRW beginning at the Ross Gear division in Lafayette and eventually working for them in Europe, South America, Australia and Asia. Later in his career he worked with the Indiana courts developing computer systems for probation management and tracking.

Bob believed that the potential of young people was greatly enhanced by programs such as the Boy Scouts, and he spent several years as scout master of Troop 126 in Brookston, IN. Throughout his life he would always patronize any popcorn sales table benefitting scouting. Before he handed over his payment though, he would recite with the scouter the Boy Scout oath.

Although Bob enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies, he dedicated much of his leisure time to the sport of tennis – playing, teaching and building his own clay tennis court. Bob became a tennis official for schools and amateur tournaments throughout the Midwest, ultimately serving several years as the USTA Central Indiana Chair of Officials.

Visitation will be 10:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025 followed by a service at 11:00 am, at Soller-Baker, West Lafayette Chapel, with burial to follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery, Oxford, IN.
