Robert Murray of Kingsville, Texas, passed away December 20, 2023.
Born in Concordia, Kansas, he moved to Natches, Mississippi as a young boy, then to Harlingen and Raymondville, Texas, where he graduated from high school.
He attended Texas A&I University while working summer relief for Humble Oil Company until he was drafted into the U.S Army. After completing his service, he worked offshore Grand Isle, Louisiana, until transferring back to the King Ranch gas plant. He spent the following years as an operator, instrument man, and retired as a repairman after 40 years working for Exxon.
In retirement he became a loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Lucile Murray, brother, Rex, and sister, Barbara Nichols. He was survived by his wife Deanna, his two daughters and son in laws. Daughter Vicki and Scott Wilson, their children, Tygue, McQue, DeLaney, Gherig, and Kerrigan. Daughter Carrie, and husband Tom Lemcke, and their children, London and Liesel. Sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held December the 27th, 2023, at Turcotte-Piper Mortuary beginning at 1:00PM, followed by a burial at Chamberlain Cemetery.
