Robert James Nash Jr., Midland, Michigan Formerly of Saginaw
Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Toni & Trish House in Auburn with his family at his side. Age 82 years. Son of the late Robert and Elizabeth (Fehrenbach) Nash Sr., Robert was born January 29, 1943, in Bay City, Michigan. He attended Bay City Central High School, Delta College, receiving his associate's degree, and Michigan State University, receiving his bachelor's degree in Police Administration and master's degree in Criminal Justice. Robert was married to Susan Kay Piechowiak, his loving wife of 57 years, on April 6, 1968. She survives him. Robert served the community for over 30 years at the Genesee County Probation and Sheriff Departments, as well as State of Michigan-Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Officer. He is a member of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Midland and was a past member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Saginaw. He enjoyed jogging, weightlifting, woodworking, gardening, fishing and fixing many things. Robert was most proud of his family and will be remembered as a good husband, father, grandfather, honest and hard-working.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Susan Nash; four children, Jennifer Nash (Jozsef) Bedocs, Robert (Tammy) Nash III, Michael (Jenny) Nash, and Amy (Marshall) Rumsey; seven grandchildren, Amanda and Faith Nash, Makayla, Owen and Ben Nash, and Andrew and Ella Rumsey; his sisters, Bonnie Martinson, Gerry (Larry) Moultine, Gini (Richard) Zook, and Mary (Jim) Wittbrodt; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. Robert was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Les Martinson.
The family would like to thank the Mid-Michigan Hospice Staff and the caring and compassionate staff of the Toni and Trish House in Auburn.
Funeral Liturgy will take place will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steven Gavit will officiate. Private burial will take place at St. Patrick Cemetery, Bay City, Michigan. Friends may visit at the church on Monday, where the family will be present from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The family would prefer that instead of sending flowers that donations be made in honor of Robert to Toni & Trish House, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or American Cancer Society.
