Roberta A. Houston

Roberta Alice Houston, age 78, of Lexington, passed away Monday, December 29, 2025 in her home.

She was born July 26, 1947 in Detroit, daughter of the late Stewart A. and Ella Marie (Gregory) Houston.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Dorothy Jeane Houston; nephews, Ian and Seth Houston, niece, Kaitlyn Houston; great nieces and nephews, Keira, Liam, Conlan, Aine, Moira, and Sami. As well as numerous cousins and friends. Roberta was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald.

Robbie, as she was known, will be missed by her family and friends. She enjoyed an interesting life. Grew up in Birmingham, then Almont MI. Attended Michigan State University graduating with honors. Taught briefly before going to work for the government at Selfridge Air Force base. She served with the Peace Corps for 2 years on the Island of Yap. Then served with VISTA on the Northern Cheyenne Reservation teaching for 2 years. She traveled across Russia and China with her friend Juti who had been the family's exchange student from Finland during high school. She had a long career working for the federal government as a cost analysis, sometimes at the Forestry department, sometimes at the Pentagon. Enjoying the many trips she took across the country while working for them. She retired and moved to Lexington MI in 2004.
