Robert Newman Sr.

Robert (Bob) Newman Sr., 77, of Wichita Falls, TX, passed into eternity on Thursday, October 24, 2024.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Grace Church Chapel, 5214 Stone Lake Dr., Wichita Falls, TX, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Pastor Joe Cook will be officiating the service. A private family interment will be held at Bowman Cemetery at a later date.
Bob was born on March 2, 1947, in Niagara Falls, NY, and was the second of two sons born to William James Newman and Margaret Ida Sparling Newman. Bob graduated from Starpoint High School in Lockport, New York in 1965 and entered the United States Air Force in 1966. He served for four years and trained at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, TX, then in Korea during the Vietnam War in which he worked as a helicopter mechanic. During his stint at Sheppard Air Force Base, Bob married Karen Emily Parker on July 2, 1967, at St. Paul Lutheran Church and were married for 57 years. After his service in the Air Force, Bob and Father-in-Law, Bill Parker, co-owned Bill & Bob's Exxon on Southwest Parkway. Bob then went on to successfully manage Radio Shack locations at Parker Square, Sikes Senter Mall, and Kemp for 30 years in which he was honored on several occasions with District and Regional Awards. Along with his successful work career, Bob loved playing trumpet throughout high school and especially in the Evangel Temple Orchestra for several years. Bob always had a fun personality and was always joking with those he knew and those he didn't. He was quick to make friends and make those around him laugh and feel comfortable, even during his illness! Family, friends, and customers always enjoyed his presence and interacting with Bob.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Newman. He is survived by his wife Karen Newman of Wichita Falls, son Bobby Newman and wife Amanda of Ardmore, OK, son Ronnie Newman of Wichita Falls, and daughter Tracy Lovato and husband Joe of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Megan Newman and fiancé Greg Warzyk, Aaron Newman and wife Taryn, Emily Lozano and husband Edgar, Jomarie Lovato and Brian Sziladi, Bethany Ly and husband Kevin, Logan Lovato; great-grandchildren, Grayson, Jackson, Jamison, and Reagan Ly, Emilia Ramirez, Jiren, and Ollivander Sziladi, and brother; John and wife Liz of Ft. Meyers, Florida along with numerous nieces and nephews.
