Robert William Norrdin, born in 1937 to parents Mary and Willis Roy, was raised alongside siblings Gail, Patricia, and Christopher in Brooklyn, New York. After graduating from Brooklyn College, Bob went on to obtain his DVM and PhD from Cornell University. In 1969, Bob assumed a faculty position at Colorado State University's School of Veterinary Medicine, conducting research principally in bone disease and educating students in pathology. After 37 years of service to the school and the scientific community, Bob formally retired from CSU in 2006 but continued to informally and joyfully stay involved in the happenings of the Pathology Department for many years afterward. Fortunately for Bob, he managed to convince a wonderful young woman from Brooklyn to be his wife, and, in 1963, he and Clare were married. After moving to Colorado in 1969, they settled and raised four sons in the same home where Bob passed on August 15th, 2025. In addition to his family, immediate and extended, Bob loved a great many things in life, and those who knew him can attest to his passion for laughing, travel, handball, dancing, singing, canoeing, skiing, cycling, and getting others involved in these activities. Along with his siblings Gail Orsano and Chris Norrdin, Bob is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Clare, and his four sons, Christopher, Thomas, Michael, and Matthew, as well as his seven grandchildren.
