Cris graduated from Ezell Harding Christian School and MTSU. He attended Long Hollow Church. He married Brandy Waddell in 1998; recently celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. The pride of his life was his two sons, Stone and Brown. He was a devoted and supportive father who loved his family in every way. If you knew Cris, this was evident. He was also a loyal friend and a "connector" of people. He often said one of the things he was best at was surrounding himself with good people. One of his greatest accomplishments was "Bruins Basketball." Bruins Basketball gave Cris the opportunity to coach and mentor many young boys and girls. He invested his time and energy; loving every player and there were many.
Cris fought a courageous battle with cancer that began in July 2021. In his own words, Cris wrote, "It has been a blessing in many ways by making me dig deeper, become a better person and stronger Christian. My life has been more richly blessed than I could have ever hoped for."
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert C. Norton.
Cris is survived by his wife, Brandy Waddell Norton; sons, Stone Norton and Brown Norton; mother, Libby McNeese; sister, Cassidy (Alex) Mussleman.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, October 30th at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be Sunday, October 29th from 2:00-6:00 PM and Monday, October 30th from 4:00 PM until time of service at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at st.jude.org.
