Robert "Bob" W. Orlowski (June 4, 1950 - October 5, 2023)
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Robert W. Orlowski, fondly known as Bob to those who knew him. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and son. Born to Walter and Leona (Sally) Orlowski, Bob stood as the beacon and protective elder of an expansive family, being the eldest of twelve children.
Bob married his wife, Carol Kusnier Orlowski, in a marriage that spanned over five decades together. They were the epitome of commitment and steadfastness, with their marriage serving as a testament to the power of promises kept, and their unwavering dedication to one another in the quiet, everyday moments.
As a Vietnam War veteran, Bob exemplified courage, valor, and a steadfast commitment to his nation. His dedication was also evident in his professional life. For 31 years, Bob contributed his skills on the line at General Motors, retiring in 1999.
A true sports enthusiast, his unwavering loyalty to the Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and Michigan State Spartans was well known among friends and family. But beyond the roaring stadiums, Bob found tranquility and joy on the golf course, reveled in the camaraderie of bowling nights, and cherished time on the lake fishing. Not just a sportsman, Bob's fondness for keno led him to frequent his favorite spot, Joe's Gizzard City, where he generously shared the bounties of his garden, gifting tomatoes, and cucumbers to fellow patrons.
An enthusiastic Trekkie, Bob's friends affectionately dubbed him "Spock" as he resembled Leonard Nimoy as well as being an avid fan of the adventures of the Starship Enterprise. He loved his science fiction shows from Conan to Xena and Hercules. He was an avid reader with a continuation in his love for all things Science Fiction literature.
In his wake, Bob leaves a legacy of love. Mourning his loss are his devoted wife, Carol; his children, Amy (Tom) Kurucz, Aaron (Kori) Orlowski, and Amanda Orlowski; and his adored grandchildren, Loganne, Caleb, Everett, Jace, and Izabella.
As we remember him, we find solace in the belief that Bob has found peace, reuniting with those who preceded him: infant daughter; grandson, Deacon Orlowski; his parents; brother, Tom Orlowski; sisters, Carol Orlowski and Cathy Boog.
May his memories be a gentle reminder of the love, joy, and strength he brought into our lives. A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Jack Brown officiating. A visitation will be held just prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. The funeral will be webcast so you may watch it from any computer, smartphone, or mobile device that has internet access. Go to www.prayfuneral.com, click on Bob's tribute, then click on Photos and Videos from your computer (or Media from your smart phone). The family is in the care of Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte.
Bob's legacy of love, resilience, and humor will be remembered and cherished always.

We lived a block apart and often played baseball games. I believe he came to Ithaca in Jr High and immediately made the basketball team. A very strong player also on the football team. Prayers to the family.

God's blessings on Bob's family. We were neighborhood friends until the family moved to Sickles, as well as attended St Paul's Church with him and his family. We graduated Class of 1968. Bob was a shy guy with a warm heart.
