Robert David Parent Jr., affectionately known as "BB" to his IBEW brothers and sisters, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025, at the age of 56. He was a devoted son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and was a proud Louisiana native. David was born on September 15, 1968, to Robert "Bob" David Parent Sr. and Essie Marie Gill Parent in Hammond, LA. He was raised in Natalbany, LA and attended Natalbany Baptist Christian School and Independence High School where he graduated in 1988. After high school, David followed in his father's footsteps by joining the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers to become a journeyman wireman for the past 30 years. He has worked in Michigan, Louisiana, Illinois, and Indiana, and he was a proud member of the IBEW Local 995 in Baton Rouge, LA. David was an avid LSU fan who bled purple and gold, and his passions were hunting and fishing which he often invited family and friends to his good ol' fish fry. He was a one-of-a-kind man that will be forever missed and is now on an eternal fishing trip with Jesus.
David is survived by his best friend and wife of 30 years, Kimberly Harper Parent; his two daughters, Amanda Parent and Rebecca Parent (Joey Troxclair); four grandchildren, Avery Taylor, Anya, Michael, and Declan Schexnayder; father, Robert "Bob" Parent Sr.; two sisters, Marla "Molly" Parent and Jana; his beloved terrier, Jax; mother and father-in-law, Richard and Theresa Forrest; sister and brother-in-law, James and Gwen Williams; nephews, Kade, Keegan, and Kamden Pedelahore; and numerous extended family.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Essie Marie Gill Parent; brother, Michael Parent; paternal grandparents, Harry and Belle Parent; maternal grandparents, Jim and Maggie Mullen; father-in-law, Pete Harper; and his beloved terrier, PeeWee.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at The River Church in Tickfaw on Tuesday, July 8, 2025 from 9:30 a.m. until the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Ralph Stewart will officiate.
