Dr. Robert Eugene Parks Jr.

Dr. Robert E Parks, Jr. passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022, after a three month battle
of aggressive metastatic melanoma (cancer). He was 44 years old.
He was born October 5, 1977 in Jackson, Tennessee. He attended school and lived in
Milan, Tennessee.
He held a Bachelor of Science degree in music from Austin Peay State University, a
Master's, and a Doctorate of Music from University of Kentucky. Rob was the percussion
director in Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District for six years at Newman
Smith High School. He also served at Dan F. Long Middle School during that time. The last ten
years have been spent in the Frisco Independent School District (four at Liberty High School and
six at Lebanon Trail). He was also serving as percussion director at the feeder schools of Fowler
Middle and Clark Middle Schools.
While in undergrad school, he met his wife, Belinda Wheatley Parks. They both
completed their degree plans together, married, and taught together in CFBISD and Frisco ISD.
Their oldest daughter, Arianna, attends Baylor University as a music major and serves as a drum
major of The Golden Wave Band. Adelyn, their middle daughter, plays in the percussion section
at Lebanon Trail High School. Their youngest daughter, Ava, attends Ruth Borchardt Elementary
School, and already exhibits a natural talent and love for music. Music is part of Rob's legacy
which will continue to live on.
Rob is preceded in death by Robert E. "Gene" Parks (father), Karen Parks (mother),
Robert E. Parks (grandfather), Robert and Willo Maxwell (grandparents), Bruce Smith (uncle),
and Christopher Norris (nephew).
He is survived by his wife, Belinda, daughters Arianna (20), Adelyn (15), and Ava (9),
sister Kristan (Mike), mother-in-law Linda Wheatley, brother-in-law Matthew Wheatley (Angie),
aunts and uncles Gary Maxwell (Wanda), Cathi Smith, Lloyd Parks (Lois), nieces and nephews
Justin Wheatley (Jessica), Alison Yarbro (Lee), Maclain Lee (Dagan), Irby Norris, and great
nieces Peyton and Reagan Wheatley, and cousins Brandon Maxwell (Deidre and children Alli
and Rye), Aaron Parks (Elizabeth and children Aiden (4), Asher (2), and Adley (10 months), and
Austin Parks (Cameron).
Funeral services will be held at Northside Baptist Church, located at 2000 North Denton
Drive, Carrollton, Texas, 75006 on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Visitation is from 12:00-1:30,
service 1:30-2:30, with graveside services following in The Freedom section at Restland, 13005
Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas, 75243.
