Robert Raver of Crossville passed away on May 12, 2025, in his home with his wife,
Wendy, by his side. He was born in Lancaster, Ohio. He was very athletic in high
school and graduated from Penn State University majoring in Chemistry. He remained
a true Penn State fan throughout his life and amassed a large quantity of Penn State
shirts. He moved to Lehigh Valley after graduation and started a construction business.
He then left Pennsylvania and moved to Fort Myers Beach, Florida. One day he went
into Anthony's on the Gulf to meet a friend and sat next to a lady named Wendy who
was vacationing from Illinois. When she left to go home, he kept in touch daily and
when the phone bills were approaching $2000, he decided to join her in Illinois. He told
her he had met the love of his life. They went to Las Vegas and got married in 1994.
Bob was very involved in the Knights of Columbus in Dekalb, Illinois and was a fourth
degree Knight. When Wendy retired, they moved to Fairfield Glade. He enjoyed
gardening, building things, watching football, going to casinos, being with his cats, and
living in such a beautiful place. Thank you to Gentiva Hospice and Enhabit home health
care for taking such good care of him.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy, and in-laws Laurie and Gregory Kalata. No service is
planned at this time.
