Robert Roberts Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walter J. Kent Funeral Home - Elmira on Mar. 1, 2026.
Robert W. Roberts Jr. age 71, lovingly known as Bob, Bobby, Poppy, was born January 30, 1955 in Elmira, the son of the late Robert W. Roberts Sr. and Sarah Summers (Patrick), passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Friday, February 27, 2026 at his home in Corning, NY. His loving wife of 44 years, who passed away December 29, 2025, was reunited with the love of her life this past Friday; reminding us all they couldn't bear to be apart. Bob was also preceded in death by his beloved grandparents who helped raise him, Paul "Jada" and Evelyn Patrick; nephew, Brad Patrick; special friend Aunt Paula Thomas. Survivors left to cherish and honor his memory are his daughters, Sara E. Roberts, Erin R. (Christopher) Dannelley with their children, Neleh O'Neill Dannelley and Addyson L. Dannelley; niece who was more loved like a daughter, Brandy W. (Chad) Fuller with their children, Hadiya J.S. Fuller, Aurelia V. Fuller, Sorcha L. Fuller; special uncle, Terry (Lynne) Patrick; siblings: Roberta Banicki, Anthony (Ilona) Roberts and Averil Oswald; along with several nieces, nephews and many close friends. Honorable mentions of other families, the Thomas, Cummings and McGrady families as well as the countless people that came through his door and will remember him always. Bob was a dedicated employee of Kennedy Valve Manufacturing Company retiring in August of 2024. He loved being outdoors. He was meticulous about his yard and the entire neighborhood for that matter. He loved mowing, shoveling for everyone and maintaining his yard. Bob loved playing with his grandkids outside, any day of the week you could catch him in the front yard throwing a ball with his grandson, Addyson. He was the biggest cheerleader at all of their events, attending countless soccer and basketball games. He was the softest, yet most thoughtful person on the planet. He was a "girl dad" and a "girl poppy" never saying no to Five Below or Starbucks trips with Neleh and Sorcha. He loved all sports, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Kansas City Royals. He would clear his evening to take the family to an Aviators game. No matter what sports event he watched on TV, he always stood to watch them from start to finish. He was known to be very generous. He would give you his last dollar and take the shirt of his back if you needed it. Bob was everyone's dad, everyone's friend and EVERYONE'S example. Bob will forever be in our hearts.
