We are heartbroken to share that Robert William Sabota, age 55, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025.

Robert was born and raised in Lorain, Ohio. From a young age, he was known for his curiosity, intelligence, and desire to help others. He attended the University of Akron for his undergraduate studies and went on to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a physician, graduating from NEOUCOM in 1993. The Sabota family is large and Robert's love for his children, wife, and grandchildren were the center of his universe. Robert devoted his life to caring for others and serving his community as an internal medicine physician through his private practice as well as at Aultman Hospital, Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital, and more. His patients and colleagues remember him as a compassionate, skilled physician who always went above and beyond.

After retiring from medicine, Robert embraced his love of food, hospitality, and the Canton community by acquiring Milk and Honey Candy and Soda Shoppe, an iconic Canton restaurant.

Robert's life was rich in the things he loved most: cheering for Cleveland sports, traveling the world, enjoying music and history, and, as a philanthropist, finding joy in sharing with others. Above all, he treasured time with his family and friends, who will remember him for his humor, kindness, generosity, and example.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen; his parents, Donna and Robert; his brother, Jeff; his two sons, David and Andrew (Bryanna); his stepchildren, Bryan (Laura), Kelly (Rocco), and Jason (Dawn); as well as his beloved grandchildren, Nadia, Natalie, Evan, Gabriella, Emma, and Zach. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William "Pap Pap" Crawford.

Calling hours will be held Sunday, September 14, 2025, from 1–3 p.m., immediately followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home, located at 1517 Market Ave N, Canton, OH 44714. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Refuge of Hope, a cause close to Robert's heart.

Robert's presence, kindness, and love will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched.
