Robert L. Schildknecht was born March 13th, 1930 to Louis & Mary Schildknecht and was one of five siblings.

Dad grew up as a farm boy, the son of a dairymen. He grew up in Union Star, MO and attended school there. Later, he attended the University of Missouri before being called into service with the U.S. Army. There he served as an aid (corporal) to the General in 1951-1953.

After the service, he married Geraldine Saunders on May 16th, 1954 and they resided in Polo, MO and farmed. Bob sold insurance and worked for the USDA in Higginsville for several years.

In 1970 they bought their 80 acre farm north of Warrensburg and reunited his love for farming and cattle. Bob began his career as a carrier/clerk in 1968 at the U.S. Post Office in Warrensburg. He later retired in 1991 to return to farming.

Both Bob and Jerry loved working in their church with missions, especially the international student ministry hosting many CMSU students in their home during the holidays.

Since then, Bob and Jerry enjoyed RVing, and working with Campers on Mission, traveling, and eventually buying a winter home in Sun City, AZ were they enjoyed several years of warm climates and volunteered with several churches and working on the Indian reservation.

Bob (and Jerry) enjoyed attending their grandson's H.S. football games in Warrensburg, visiting the grandkids in Utah & Montana, as well as helping Doug & Rita with Fireworks.

Bob was proceeded in death by his wife Geraldine; parents Louis & Mary Schildknecht; and sisters, Edith Burgess & Elizabeth Burger.

Bob is survived by his son, Doug Schildknecht and wife Rita of Warrensburg, MO; daughter Shelly Wickham and husband Glen of Sun City, AZ; grandchildren, Aaron Schildknecht and wife Stephanie, Ryan Schildknecht, Christopher Johnson, Patrick Johnson, and Ashlynn Johnson; great grandchildren, Jaxon Schildknecht, Addyson Schildknecht, and Alex Warlen; brother, Ellis Schildknecht and wife Carter; and sister, Lois Littleton.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Warrensburg Missouri Veterans Home with checks made payable to the Missouri Veterans Home Assistance League.
