Robert William Seamans, 90, of Ocean View, formerly of Chevy Chase, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. He attended BCC in Bethesda and later graduated from Penn State University, where he met his beloved wife, Martha. They were married on campus and enjoyed 49 wonderful years together.
In his early career, Robert worked as a college recruiter for Park College in Missouri. Later, he and Martha took a leap of faith and opened Antique Prints, Inc. in Ocean View, Delaware, in 1971. As avid collectors, they traveled extensively and built an impressive collection of antique maps and prints over the course of more than 40 years. This collection and legacy continues to be carried on by Kerry and Brandon Case.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Martha, and is survived by his loving daughter, Kerry Case, and son-in-law, Brandon Case; as well as two grandchildren, Sadie and Max Case.
Known for his charismatic personality, Robert loved to share stories and jokes. He had a passion for jazz, the beach, sunbathing, planting trees and flowers, hosting movie nights, traveling, and art.
A private celebration of life will be held in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a plant or tree, as they will be creating a memorial garden in his honor.
