Robert "Bob" Sedar

Robert "Bob" Sedar, aged 88, of South Windsor, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at his daughter's home, which was also where he grew up.
He graduated from Ellsworth Memorial High School in 1954. He was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps from 1954 to 1958, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was honored to be part of the first silent drill team honor guard to present the colors at the Iwo Jima Memorial in Arlington.
One of Bob's most cherished experiences was the five-hour climb up Mount Washington with his wife and daughters, where they reached the summit together on a rare, clear day. He also enjoyed gardening and had a true green thumb; even this past spring, he was still tending the asparagus patch his father had planted in 1944.
A lifelong resident of South Windsor, Bob was the beloved son of the late Mary (Zelesky) Sedar and Alexander Sedar. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Carole (Superson); his father, Alex; his mother, Mary; and his brother, Francis "Sam." Bob is survived by his daughters, Dawn of Wilmington, MA, and Diane of South Windsor, CT; his granddaughter, Jocelyn (Roy) Trivellin of Westford, MA; grandson Joey Cornish of Wilmington, MA; and his beloved "granddogter," Sunny.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, November 22, 2025, followed immediately by a prayer service and military honors at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor.
