Glen played many varsity sports in school, but excelled at football. He also played summer baseball in Little League and Pony League at Leavell Woods Park in South Jackson. He attended Key Elementary, Peeples Junior High and was in the Class of 1966 at Provine High School. Glen proudly served in the Mississippi Air National Guard to fulfill his military obligations. He later worked full time at OK Auto Parts in Richland with his father, Robert, and brother, Terry, for a few years, but soon Glen ventured out to acquire and operate a couple of gas stations. Later he was also employed for several years at Redi-Strip of Jackson. However, his final business venture was as owner/operator of Midway Auto Parts in Richland until the business was sold. In his later years prior to retirement, he worked in security at Rankin General Hospital.
Glen was a simple man who sought the truth. He loved his Lord and Savior, family, cats, and friends. He enjoyed visiting and helping others, but he was especially fond of bringing smiles and laughter to all in his midst, especially the elderly. Glen joined and attended the Seventh-day Adventist Church for many years in Florence, MS, which later merged with the Jackson Seventh-day Adventist Church to become the College Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pearl, MS. Glen passionately loved studying and discussing the Bible and had memorized much scripture to support his beliefs with others in the hopes of sharing the Lord he knew and loved with all his heart. His study of the Bible led him to become an active member in the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
In lieu of flowers to honor Glen's memory, donations may be made to the College Drive Seventh-day Adventist Church in Pearl and to the MS Animal Rescue League.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for Glen at 2:00pm on August 12, 2023 at the College Drive Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 110 College Street, Pearl, MS 39208.
