A Life of Love and Laughter
Robert Lee Spann Jr., 66, of South Bend, Indiana completed his earthly assignment on Friday, November 18, 2022.
Robert was born in South Bend, Indiana on January 9, 1956, to the union of Robert Lee and Syble (Lewis) Spann. He was the oldest of five sons born in this union. Robert, known as Jr, graduated from John Adams High School. Robert enlisted in the Navy in June of 1976 and was released from honorable discharged in June of 1978. Robert had seveal occuptions, but his favorite job was at Lake Copper Conductors. Jr. never met a stranger. Robert's great sense of humor will be always remembered. He had the ability to bring a smile to your face. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
His memory will forever be cherished by his children: Monisha (Paul) Pope, TyKeesha Spann, Keeshia Spann, and Destiny Spann all of South Bend, IN, and Tamarra Spann from Indianapolis, IN; His father, Robert Spann Sr.of South Bend, IN; his brothers: William (Kay) Thompson of Denver, CO, Bruce Spann of Mequon, WI, Ronnie Spann Sr., Ronald Harris, Brian Spann all of South Bend, IN.; His sisters: Therese Taylor of South Bend, IN and Tinesha Spann of Chicago, IL.; his uncles: James Spann Sr. Joe Spann and Roland Spann all of South Bend, IN.; ex-wife: Carol Lynn Spann; and his godson Andrew Smith. Robert had a total of nine grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Family members who preceded him in death include, his mother, Syble (Lewis) Spann and his bonus mother Ruby (Ware) Spann; a brother, Mark D. Spann: his maternal grandparents, Hazel (Rush) and Theobra Lewis; his fraternal grandparents, Nadine (Chapman) and Frank Spann Sr.

Robert and I used to work at Notre Dame campos at the Morris Inn Hotel. Good people great sense of humor.

To the "Spann family" and friends.... I was truly sorry to hear of the passing of Robert. I've known you all from when I was a very small child and living not even a minute away from you guys.
Remembering Robert, whenever we crossed paths he always had that nice smile for you and that kind' way about himself.
