Robert was born on July 18, 1927, in East Liverpool, a son of the late Raymond and Julia (Green) Steed. He was a Navy veteran proudly serving during WW II. Robert retired from Crucible Steel where he worked as a millwright in the cold strip.
Preceding Robert in death were his wife of 75 years, whom he married November 4, 1949, Martha R. (McCormack) Steed; sons-in-law R. Stephen Young and Frank M. Young and sister Eileen Cerasi.
Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters Barbara A. Mick and her husband George P. and Patricia J. Young; son James R. Steed; four grandchildren Michelle L. Mackey and her husband Donnie, Brian G. Mick and his wife Julie, Michael S. Young and David A. Young; five great-grandchildren Josh Mackey, Kamryn Young, Zackery Mick, Jordan Mick and Andrea McKenzie and four great-great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit Wednesday at the Dawson Funeral Home where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Evangelist Will Montgomery will conduct a funeral service on Thursday 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Private burial at Columbiana County Memorial Park.
Following the service the family will gather at the Dawson Family Center for a time of fellowship.
