Robert "Bob" Thomas Stiles was born on October 23, 1938, to James Gettys Scott Stiles and Ocie Frances Stiles. Roberts journey through life included many milestones. Robert was 15 years old, and Iva was 14 years old when they started officially dating in high school. Robert graduated from Byars Hall High School in 1956. On August 29, 1959, he married the love of his life Iva Hopkins, age 19, and Robert was 20 years of age. Robert later served in the National Guard for eight years. They had one daughter, Julie, born in 1963. Later, they chose to move to Desoto County Mississippi when their family grew to include two granddaughters in 1986. Eventually, they had two great grandchildren in 2016 and 2018 which brought them immense joy. Robert was very involved in church and served as an usher before his health declined. He was a member at Calvary Baptist Church. Robert went to be with the Lord on January 26, 2025, at the age of 86 surrounded by his wife and two granddaughters. He was preceded in death by his brother James Samuel Stiles, his parents James Gettys and Ocie Stiles. He is survived by his devoted wife of 65 years, Iva Stiles of Southaven, MS; one daughter Julie Bushell (Billy) of Oviedo, FL; his beloved granddaughters Amber Hammond of Memphis, TN; and Amy Connell (Mikel), and his beloved great grandchildren Hadley and Bradley Connell of Horn Lake, MS.A Memorial service will be held at Maley Yarbrough Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 4th at 1pm. The family receive guests an hour prior. The inurnment will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
