Robert Leander Thiels

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Robert Leander Thiels will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 8, 2024, at St. Martin Catholic Church, LeCompte, with Monsignor Bruce Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens, Woodworth, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pineville.
Mr. Thiels, 83, of LeCompte, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alphonse and Lois Thiels; and one sister, Mary Lola Perschy.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-one years, Louise Thiels of LeCompte; four daughters, Pat Winegeart of Forest Hill, Pam Fitzgerald (Jeff) of Elmer, Anna Johnson (Brian) of LeCompte, and Becky Blair (Kenny) of Alexandria; one brother, Charles Thiels of Alexandria; four grandchildren, Bobby Winegeart, Aaron Winegeart, Cody Fitzgerald, and Haley Fitzgerald; and three great grandchildren, Wyatt Winegeart, Bella Winegeart, and Blakely Winegeart.
A time of visitation will be held in the hall of St. Martin Catholic Church, LeCompte, on Monday, January 8, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 11:00 a.m. in the hall of St. Martin Catholic Church, LeCompte.
