Robert Tiry

Robert John "Bob" Tiry, age 73, a long-time resident of Nowata, Oklahoma died at his home on July 22,
2023, after a long illness. Bob was Born on January 20, 1950, to his father Cecil Robert Tiry, and Mother
Margaret Mae (Royer) Elliott, in Coffeyville Kansas. Bob got his GED and went on to Computer
Programming School and Mechanic School. On November 5, 1971, Bob married the love of his life, Lois Faye (Thornbrugh) Tiry in Miami, OK.
Bob worked as a Mechanic and Oil Field Pumper for Methvin Oil. In Bob's spare time, he loved woodworking, camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.
Bob served in Viet Nam from December 1967 to June 1970 and received several medals. He was a lifetime member of the Coffeyville VFW Post 1022.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Lois Tiry, his parents Cecil Tiry and Margaret Elliott, Sister Cathy
Wohlschlegel, niece Dana Marie Frye, brothers Jack Tiry and Ronald Tiry, and grandson Johnathan Long.
Bob is survived by his brother Don Shaw and Sister Shirley Tiry, children Janet Henson and Kelly of Nowata, grandchildren Bradley Tiry, Susanne Harrell and Whalen of Broken Arrow, Dylan Henson, Colton Henson, and Savannah Henson of Nowata,Oklahoma, Lexi Henson and Breauna Henson of Tulsa, Oklahoma, daughter Stacy Bright and Chris and grandchildren Molly and Mason of Rochester Hills, Michigan, son Steven Tiry of Tiblisi, Georgia, and grandson Brian and Trista Tiry and great-grandson Oliver of Delaware, Oklahoma, son Rob Long of Azle, Texas, granddaughter April Bumgarner and great-granddaughter Anastasia of Azle, Texas, grandson Brett Long of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Clariece Long and German and great-grandson Johnathon of Azle, Texas and step-daughter Theresa Davis and her daughter Taunia Davis and her son Michael Boggess of Nowata, Oklahoma, and adopted son James Tiry, bonus daughter Jenn Brockman and Momma Sherry and bonus granddaughters Kat and Nove Mber Brockman all of Andover, Kansas.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the family through Stumpff Funeral Home in Nowata.
A visitation will be held Thursday, July 27, 2023, at Stumpff Funeral Home, 620 E. Cherokee, Nowata, Oklahoma from 9 am to 7 pm.
Graveside funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at 4:00 pm at the Martin Cemetery in Childers, Oklahoma. A potluck dinner is scheduled for 5 pm at the Coffeyville VFW Post 1022.
