Mr. Robert Lee Twyman, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, son, and friend, was born on March 22, 1963, in
Talladega, Alabama, to Bishop Joseph Twyman, Sr. and Pastor Barbara Kelley Twyman.
He embraced his faith early on, becoming a member of Freedom Holy Ghost Headquarters. Robert navigated through life with resilience, completing his education in the Talladega County School System and graduating from Winterboro High School. After his studies, he work various jobs, but later in life he dedicated himself to the manufacturing industry as a forklift operator with New South Express (NSE), where his gentle spirit and infectious smile endeared him to co-workers and friends alike.
Beyond his work, Robert was a devoted father and grandfather, relishing the joyful fun of family gatherings. He was known for his hands-on approach to life, often found tinkering with cars and displaying his support for the Auburn Tigers. His playful joking and ability to spread laughter made him a beloved figure in the lives of many-including his grandchildren, who regarded him as the best granddad one could ask for. He loved his grandchildren unconditionally.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, Robert departed this world peacefully in the comfort of his home, embraced by the love of his devoted family. He leaves behind a legacy woven with love, laughter, and cherished memories that shall forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him. In the embrace of eternity, he is now reunited with his beloved father, Bishop Joseph Twyman, Sr., brothers, Joseph Twyman, Jr. and Tommy Twyman, grandparents, Lazareth and Nettie Twyman and Ernest and Josie Kelly.
Robert's legacy will continue to thrive through his seven daughters, Jessica Battle, Angeleeta Spencer, Dominique Spencer, Rashmeya Garrett, Jaleesa Carter, Aunteria Griffin, and Shantell Griffin; son, Robert Lee Battle; loving and devoted mother, Pastor Barbara Twyman; four sisters, Lisa (Michael) Estell, Kimberly Brown, Debra (John) McGowan, and Inez Cook; three brothers, Lazareth (Jeri) Twyman, Tracey Twyman, and Stanley Twyman; grandsons, Jaden Spencer, Tobijah Spencer, and Jeremiah Spencer, and Deonta Battle; favorite aunt; Julia Adams; special niece, Brittany Patterson; 17 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends who held him dear.
As we come together to celebrate the extraordinary life of Robert Lee Twyman, we find comfort in the abundance of treasured memories and the legacy he leaves behind-a radiant light guiding us through the days to come. He will forever remain in our hearts, a cherished memory woven into the fabric of our lives.
