Robert A. Watson

Robert "Bob" Watson, age 78 of Avon, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. He was born on August 20, 1946 in Delaware, Ohio to parents Robert and Martha (nee Steinhaur) Watson.
Bob grew up in the Collinwood area of Cleveland and Trenton, New Jersey. He proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1964 to 1970. Following his military service, Bob embarked on a career in powder coatings with Glidden, Ferro and Akzo Nobel.
Bob had a passion for golf, and enjoyed having played at some of the best courses in the world: Harbour Town, the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, Torrey Pines, Kapalua Bay Hawaii, Pebble Beach, St. Andrew's in Scotland, plus many others. He enjoyed poker, billiards, and bowling, even bowling three perfect games. Bob's other hobbies included drawing, watercolors, and watch repair.
Bob is survived by his loving wife Christine Straub Watson; devoted daughter Carrie Watson; cherished granddaughter Fiona; several beloved in-laws and nieces and nephews who will miss him; and sister Vicki Watson (who will hold a separate celebration of life for the Watson family at a time and place of her choosing). He was preceded in death by his parents and newborn twin brothers.
