Robert Weinstein Obituary
Bob was a graduate of Friends' Central School in 1963. He attended Swarthmore College, majoring in Biology and graduated in 1967. He then went on to medical school at the University of Pennsylvania followed by an internship in internal medicine at UCLA Hospital and a residency in OB-GYN at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He became part of the medical staff at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania as well as a Clinical Associate Professor in OB-GYN.
Bob joined his father in his OB-GYN practice in Philadelphia from 1975 to 1985 and continued in his solo practice from 1986-2019. Bob was a well-respected OBGYN affiliated with the Hospital of the Univ. of Pennsylvania for over four decades and was recognized as Philadelphia Magazine Top Doc for obstetrics and gynecology from 1984-2006.
In addition to his distinguished medical career, Bob enjoyed playing tennis and chess, sailing, biking, skiing, and coin collecting of early US coppers.
Relatives and friends are invited Friday, October 10, 2025, beginning 10:30 AM to Platt Memorial Chapels, Inc., 2001 Berlin Rd. Cherry Hill, NJ where funeral services will begin promptly at 11:00 AM. The service will also be live streamed on plattmemorial.com. Please scroll down to view the live stream. Interment will follow at Crescent Memorial Park in Pennsauken, NJ.
Shiva will be observed at the late residence on Friday, October 10th following the burial until 6:00 PM; on Saturday, October 11th from 6:30-8:30 PM; and on Sunday, October12th from 2:00-4:00 PM.

Dr Weinstein delivered my boys. I believe my kids were among his first deliveries as Bret was born Feb 1976. His former wife was pregnant with Billy and Bob and I would kid about certain milestones. We would laugh about Gloria on All in the Family who was pregnant at the same time. His father George literally saved my life when I was 22 as well as my ability to bear children.
He turned me over to Bob who had just started. Bob helped me through two challenging pregnancies and also two miscarriages. He also supported me through the most difficult decision I ever had to make. I remember his kindness and wonderful sense of humor as well as his skill as a doctor. Bob had a twinkle in his eye that charmed all of us. I am so saddened by this news. I send love and care to his wife and family. Bob was an amazing, wonderful man
