Roger H. Readinger, age 82, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully at his residence on June 24, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Russell and Neta Hart Readinger, Roger spent the past 13 years in Glen Mills, previously residing in Broomall, PA.
He graduated from Friends Central School in 1961. Roger proudly served his community as a Havertown Police Officer for over 28 years, retiring in 1994. Following his retirement, he worked at Genuardi's Grocery Store for 18 years.
Devoted to his faith, Roger was a longtime member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Concord, PA. In the 1970s, he led a Boy Scout troop for Scouts with disabilities at the Old Forge School. In the 1990s and 2000s, he remained active in youth ministry through the Episcopal Youth Retreat Program as part of the cooking team. From 2012 - 2025 Roger served on the Safety Committee at Fox Hill Farms.
A proud veteran, Roger honorably served his country in both the U.S. Army and the Air National Guard for a combined 22 years.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents and he is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Bette-Jo (Schwarz) Readinger; daughters, Christi (Glenn) Moore and Kathi (Kerry) Feltner; grandchildren, Richard and Joseph Moore, Tia Barrera (Luis), Christopher Feltner, and Mackenna Feltner.
A visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 10:00-11:00 AM, at St. John's Episcopal Church, 576 Concord Rd. Glen Mills. PA, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Roger's memory may be made to Delco Hero Scholarship Fund (), Providence Animal Center () or to a charity of your choice. I worked with Roger at the Haverford Twp. Police Department. He was a kind, honorable man and the world is less without him. A life well lived. Rest in peace.
