"Together Again"
New Middletown - Robert J. Wiery, age 96, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home in New Middletown.
Robert was born on October 27, 1927, in Niles, OH, son of the late Fabbiano and Cuncetta Malvaso Wiery.
Robert had worked as a milk sales and delivery man for Borden's Dairy in Boardman for many years. He served in the US Air Force at the end of World War II. He was a member of St. Jude Roman Catholic Church in Columbiana. He enjoyed watching TV, especially Westerns and sports. He also loved listening to classical music but most of all, being with his family.
His spouse, the former Betty Gleckler, whom he married on January 15, 1949, preceded him in death on September 7, 1996.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert C. (Kathy) Wiery of Zephyrhills, FL; four grandchildren, Robert C. (Bridgette) Wiery Jr. with whom he made his home, Patrick Wiery, Christine Wiery and Trevor Wiery; and five great grandchildren, RJ, Charlie, Adam, Evan and Elizabeth.
Besides his parents and his spouse, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Vanjura, and his nine siblings.
The family will receive friends on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am at the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Columbiana.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 11:00 am at the St. Jude Roman Catholic Church, Columbiana, with Father Chad Johnson officiating.
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Warrick-Kummer-Rettig Funeral Home, Columbiana.
