Robert S. Wilkinson, known affectionately as Rob, passed away on May 7, 2025, at the age of 52, in Boston, MA. Born on July 3, 1972, in Cambridge, MA, Rob grew into a man beloved for his generosity, work ethic, and vibrant personality.
Rob graduated from Somerville High School before furthering his education at Mass Bay Community College. His professional life was marked by a successful career as a forklift technician for Abel Womack in the Boston area, where he spent the last seven years. His dedication and skill earned him the respect and affection of both his clients and coworkers.
More than his professional achievements, Rob was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He is survived by his father, Robert P. Wilkinson; mother, Laurel M. Wilkinson; sister, Heather Wilkinson McNeal; brother-in-law, Casey McNeal; former wife, Kathy Lennon; sons, Charlie and Kevin Wilkinson; nephews, Liam, Nick, and niece, Madeleine McNeal; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Rob would drop anything to help his family and friends in their time of need. Rob loved life and lived it fully. He was an avid enthusiast of old cars and music, relished good food, and had a special place in his heart for dogs. An adventurous spirit, he enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping. Rob was also a keen reader who enjoyed sharing his thoughts on a good book. He was always up for a spirited debate. Known for his wit and irreverence, Rob could always be counted on to share a laugh or a goofy moment, making every gathering memorable.
A service to celebrate Rob's life will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Boston Cremation, 287 Main St., Malden, MA.
Rob's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit and legacy will endure in the memories shared by his loved ones.
