Richard A. Curtin

BUZZARDS BAY – Richard Arnold Curtin, 95, of Buzzards Bay, formerly of Stoneham, Pocasset and Sarasota, FL, died Thursday, August 21, 2025 at Keystone Place of Buzzards Bay. He was the husband of the late Joan L. (Powers) Curtin.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late George and Feodora (Renault) Curtin. A graduate of Somerville High School, Mr. Curtin was a longtime manager with New England Telephone for over 30 years retiring in 1985.

Mr. Curtin was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict serving from 1951 to 1955. He enjoyed sailing, gardening and cooking, and was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pocasset.

Survivors include his children, Richard Curtin and his wife Maria of Onset, Paul G. Curtin and his wife Lori of Londonderry, NH, Diane Yarrington and her husband Paul of Sarasota, FL and Leslie Veitch and her husband Colin of Fairhaven. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, the late Janet Curtin Mulhern, and his siblings, the late Paul Beatty and Lola Loman.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Chapman Funerals & Cremations – Wareham, 2599 Cranberry Hwy. (Rt. 28), Wareham from 2 – 5 PM. His funeral will be from the funeral home on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Church, 94 High St., Wareham at 11 AM. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
