Cheryl Ann Sholds, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, left this world to be with the Lord on August 14, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on November 10, 1963, in Haverhill, Cheryl's life was one marked by compassion, joy, and an unwavering faith. She passed away peacefully in Salem, MA, surrounded by the love of her family. Cheryl's journey through life was a testament to her strength, her loving nature, and her dedication to her family and her calling as a registered nurse. Her caring hands and warm heart touched countless lives, and her legacy as a healer and confidante will be felt for generations. Her Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her in her daily actions and providing comfort and solace to those around her.
She is survived by her beloved children, Jason Leighton, Christopher Sholds, Matthew Sholds, Katelynn Burnham, and Joshua Sholds; her devoted boyfriend, Mark Morse; and her son-in-law, Dylan Burnham, and daughters-in-law, Nicole Leighton, Emily Sholds, and Brianne Sholds. Cheryl's grandchildren, Jason, Vanessa, Aubrey, Khloe, Julia, Landon, Greyson, Liam, and Maddison, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment she spent with them. Cheryl's brothers, Jeff Pellerin, Roland Patterson, Laurence Pellerin, Brian Safran, will hold dear the memories of their sister's laughter and love. Her niece and nephews, Stephanie Riccardi, Joshua Patterson, Leland Patterson, Emily Pellerin, Elizabeth Pellerin, Bailey Bilodeau, Adam Pellerin, and Laurence Pellerin the third, will miss their aunt's guidance and unwavering support. Her extended family and a multitude of friends will forever remember Cheryl's generous spirit and the joy she brought to their lives.
Cheryl's interests were as vibrant and diverse as her personality. She found solace in coloring, sang, and tended to her garden with the care of a true nurturer. Her excitement was palpable at the race track, and her laughter echoed through the air at amusement parks and zoos. She had a deep appreciation for country music, a passion for cleaning, and an innate ability to take care of others. Cheryl loved nature and the outdoors, finding God's presence in the beauty around her. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends, understanding that these moments were the essence of life's blessings.
As we bid farewell to Cheryl Ann Sholds, we hold close the words of Helen Keller: "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us." Cheryl's love and the moments we shared with her have indeed become a part of us, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire us in the days to come.
