Robert George Yancer, 78, of Ashland, died May 22, 2025 at his residence, in Ashland, Ohio.
Robert was born January 13, 1947 in Cleveland, Ohio to Georgeand Gwendolyn {Rafferty} Yancer.
He graduated from Westlake High School, before proudly serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He married Norma Jean Leisure on February 14, 2004.
Robert worked at Gran Cal for 18 years, before retiring as a CO at the Grafton Prison System. Robert enjoyed farming and he was an avid gardener. He loved working in the garage on projects. In his spare time he would go fishing, especially at Charles Mill Lake. Robert loved watching his grandkids grow up and play in the pool.
Robert will be deeply missed by his wife; children Ryan Yancer, Christine (Eric) Voshel, Cory (Chelsea) Yancer; step – children Carrie VanBremen, William VanBremen; grandchildren Calvin, Ryley, Kayden, Adryana, Grayson, Lily, Leah, Dalton, Bowen, Ariel, Arian, Arika, MJ, Ryann, Briann, Robbie, Shelbi, Issac; great-grandchildren Mariyah, Ellie, Xavier; brothers Bill Yancer, Terry Yance and sister Shirley Lidyard
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill Yancer and Terry Yancer and his sister Kathleen.
Roberts Funeral Home-Ashland Chapel will be assisting the family. Graveside services will be Wednesday May 28, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Ashland County Memorial Park, where military rites will be held. Online tributes may be made at www.RobertsFuneralHome.com.
