Died on December 6, 2022 at the age of 90. Preceded in death by his parents, Aloys and Marie (Palash) Zale, brother Gerald and sister, Iris (Zale) Zeiler.
Bob was born in Milwaukee on August 24, 1932. He graduated from Messmer High School in 1951 and Notre Dame University in 1955. Known for leaving his humble legacy throughout his life, as a graphic design major his Senior year at Notre Dame he was chosen to design a statue of the Virgin Mary which stood atop the communication tower of the WNDU-TV broadcasting station. After graduation, he served his country honorably in the U.S. Army.
He married Elaine Ullrich on October 17, 1959 at Christ King Church in Wauwatosa, beginning a life together centered on faith and family.
Bob had a 34-year career as an Art Director in the printing and packaging industry where he built and managed the department and mentored many young artists. In retirement, he loved every interaction with his family, woodworking, gardening, golf and all sports.
He is survived by his devoted wife Elaine, and children Terry (Dale), Julie (Kevin) Donnell, Monica (Mike) Nornberg, Tom (Sally), David (Karen) and Chris (Kate). Grandchildren Laurie (Dustin) Bjustrom, Katie Donnell, Ryan (Erin) and Kelsey Nornberg; Abigail and Amanda Zale, Jack Birdsall, Charlie and Maggie Zale. Great grandchildren, Luke, Jack, Nora and Lena. Sister-in-law Pat Zale, nieces and nephews.
Bob was a good and honest man, strong in integrity and faith. His pride was his family, a role-model to his sons and hero to his daughters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately for the family and a public Celebration of Life and committal will occur in late Spring.
