Roberta R. Charlton, 89, of Kalamazoo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at her home. Bobbie was born May 22, 1935 in Constantine, the daughter of George and Alice (McManus) Dean. She was a 1953 graduate of St. Augustine High School in Kalamazoo. On July 29, 1955, in Kalamazoo, Bobbie was united in marriage to Arthur Charlton who preceded her in death on December 6, 2012. Bobbie was employed as a bookkeeper for Industrial State Bank in Kalamazoo (now Comerica). She enjoyed puzzles, playing cards, was an avid reader and was a collector of a variety of things.
Bobbie is survived by seven children, Karla Charlton, Todd (Melody) Charlton, Mary (late Tom) Cavanaugh, Scott Charlton, Jeff Charlton, Gregg (Holly) Charlton and Timm Charlton; nine grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband, Arthur, and her son, Donn Charlton.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. She will be laid to rest with her husband at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park in Kalamazoo.
